Trying to keep up with the scary array of options when considering a cell phone is tough. You have to pick between all kinds of various services and phone types. And don't get me started about "minutes!" Is "10,000 free minutes" enough? Frankly, it's too much. You'd have to talk on your cell phone for five hours a day, 30 days a week to use 10,000 minutes a month.

So I recommend using the following resources to decide what to get.

LetsTalk.com: Allows you to compare services by zip code.
WirelessAdvisor.com: Plenty of information about service.
MyRatePlan.com: Explains the various offers out there.

And to compare the quality of phones themselves by brand, I use Epinions.com. Epinions also has excellent consumer ratings by city.
