If
you're like most folks, you are drowning in e-mail. Here are
some tips to help you - think of these as a life preserver for
your e-mail life.
*
SET UP A SCHEDULE TO CHECK YOUR E-MAIL: Make sure you
check your e-mail at least twice a day - will cut down on the
backlog.
*
CREATE FOLDERS: Create folders within your system so that
you file away messages you want to save.
*
CREATE SEPARATE ADDRESSES: Create separate accounts for
your personal and office mail. And one for your online shopping.
You can create free addresses at YahooMail.com and Hotmail.com.
*
CREATE AN AUTO-REPLY MESSAGE: When you go on vacation
or are away from your mail, set up a note that says, in effect
- "I am away till DATE HERE. If you don't hear from me
shortly thereafter. please e-mail me again."
*
USE THE DELETE KEY: Best tip of all: learn to delete
really fast. The more you delete, the less "drowned"
you will feel.
