I
am surprised by how many viewers still don't use
Google as their main
search engine. It's not that they are happy with what they use,
but they are just reluctant to try anything new. Well, Google
is officially no longer new, since it celebrates its fifth birthday
this month.
After
five years of looking for a better search engine I still think
Google is the best one out there. Will it always be the best?
Not necessarily (there a lot of people trying to build a better
engine), but so far the Google folks have shown the commitment
to quality, innovation and user satisfaction that too many of
the others lack.
If
you don't use Google to start every search, you certainly should
try it for a couple of days and you will find it hard to go back.
You should also download the free Google
Toolbar - it will speed your searches. The Toolbar is
for Internet Explorer (great excuse to switch from Netscape) and
only for a PC. But if you have a Mac, you should download the
Apple Safari browser
browser, which has Google built-in.
There
are too many other features to list here, so I have compiled a
list I call Things
You Didn't know Google Does - check it out. It's Google-icious.
